If you require blacksmiths or a workshop for a documentory or program that you are filming we are available for hire. You are welcome to use our workshop as a filming location and we are happy to be filmed whilst demonstrating blacksmithing techniques. We can sit (or stand) for interviews in order to provide technical information on blacksmithing processes, or provide you with the information so that you can have it read by a voice over actor.
Should you desire costumed extras for Anglo - Saxon, Viking or Medieval filming we are able to provide our own authentic costumes. We currently have an authentic Anglo - Saxon forge and tools which can be transported to filming locations of your choice, eventually we plan to have an authentic Medieval forge as well.
Below are some references from film companies we have worked with in the past and a video of a project we were involved with recreating an Anglo - Saxon sword for the Oxford Museum Service.
Testimonial from Rachel Ramsay, Wild Dream Films, Ancient Impossible, History Channel
"Stuart and Ben were a pleasure to work with. Consummate professionals and charismatic individuals, they took a genuine and informed interest in the historical elements of the show and were very accommodating to our (often tight!) filming schedule. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Iron Forged Designs for film and reenactment jobs and hope to work with them again in the future."
Sharon Woodward - Independent Filmmaker/Project Manager
"It was great working with Iron Forged Designs for the Oxfordshire Museums History In The Making project. Stuart is a real craftsman and was able to take us back in time with his skillful approach to blacksmithing."
